When Darkness Pressed In, Light Fought Back is a 24×24 acrylic abstract created in a moment of conscious interruption—when the weight of exhaustion and the pull toward withdrawal began to settle in, and a different choice was made.
Dark, sweeping forms press inward across the composition, reflecting the heaviness of fatigue, discouragement, and the familiar drift toward stillness. In contrast, bold movements of white and light cut through the surface—pushing back, creating space, and disrupting what threatened to take hold.
The marks are immediate and responsive, layered with urgency rather than precision. Drips, abrupt transitions, and shifting edges mirror the internal process of resistance—choosing action over retreat, even when energy is low and clarity is limited.
This piece captures the moment where the descent is interrupted. Not erased, not ignored—but met. The light does not wait; it engages. It presses back.
Darkness Pressed In, Light Fought Back invites reflection on the unseen battles fought within—the quiet decisions that keep us moving forward, and the strength that rises to meet us in moments we might otherwise lose.
Fine art paper and canvas print options are available. Prints are produced on standard-sized paper with a white border for easy framing and artist signature.
