Untangled

24×36 acrylic on canvas

There are moments when the mind feels full—

layered with thoughts, beliefs, memories, and stories that have gathered over time. Some are ours. Some were handed to us. And over time, they begin to intertwine until it’s difficult to tell where one ends and another begins.

In this piece, a woman rests with her eyes closed—not in escape, but in quiet awareness. She is not fighting the tangle. She is present with it.

Above her, a dove gently lifts a single thread from the mass. There is no force, no urgency—only a slow and steady unraveling. What is ready to be released begins to separate, one strand at a time.

The threads themselves are layered and dimensional, reflecting the complexity of the inner world—messy, overlapping, and often unclear. And yet, even within that complexity, there is movement. There is the possibility of discernment. Of choosing what remains… and what can be let go.

The gold thread suggests something more—

a quiet presence of guidance, peace, or clarity that does not remove the tangle, but meets us within it. Not to fix, but to help us see.

This piece is not about everything becoming perfectly ordered.

It is about the gentle, ongoing process of untangling—with patience, with support, and without judgment.

What might be ready to loosen its hold?

What are you still carrying that no longer belongs to you?

And what would it feel like to release just one thread?

Fine art paper and canvas print options are available. Prints are produced on standard-sized paper with a white border for easy framing.
