Held in the Current
Acrylic on18x24 canvas
Held in the Current explores connection within movement—the experience of being linked to others while still navigating something that cannot be controlled or fully understood.
Figures drift within a series of flowing, circular currents, connected yet individually held. The movement suggests a shared path, though not a directed one. Each figure is carried slightly differently, pulled and guided by forces beyond their control, yet remaining tethered to one another.
The presence of masks introduces a quiet layer of distance—not as concealment, but as a reflection of how we often show up in parts. Fully known or not, the connection remains. There is no demand for full visibility here, only the willingness to stay connected within what can be held.
This piece reflects a familiar, often unspoken space: the desire for connection while still learning how to be seen. Not fully hidden, not fully revealed, but present—allowing connection at a level that feels possible.
Held in the Current invites reflection on the relationships and moments where we are carried alongside others, reminding us that even partial presence is still presence.
Fine art paper and canvas print options are available. Prints are produced on standard-sized paper with a white border for easy framing.
