When I find myself painting "just to paint," I never know what will happen! As I reachfor my paints and layer different colors with no plan in mind - each composition ends up being a total surprise - even to me! It is only after the painitng is done, that I take time to sit back and stare. Subtle messages begin to emerge from the deep layers.
This one seemed to speak about our world being overcome by greed. Obsessive desire to possess all things steals our focus. Persistent greed wraps us so tightly into ourselves that selfish desires overtake us. So focused on ourselves and what we are chasing, that we hardly even notice the darkness around us.
