Creativity Workshops with a Positive Message

“…and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft…And I have given to all able men ability, that they may make all that I have commanded you…” Exodus 31:3-6

God, the Master Artisan, calls us to create! He provides in this universe limitless material for contemplation, as well as the material and tools fit for the work of expression: clay, palette, brush…

The very God who formed the world and brought order out of chaos at creation, also filled people with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to produce works of art that may speak to the artist himself, or to those who view the finished works. Our art is more than what we see – it is the feelings that come out in the process. It is the stories that surface as we explain what we see in the work. And those thoughts and feelings can be a wonderful springboard for discussions centering around who God is, His teachings, and who we are in Him.

To minister to others through various visual art projects, establishing a connection between the audience and a story that brings out the circumstances of life and demonstrates hope through Christ Jesus. Most people experience Christ first and foremost through art and experience, not propositions. The communicative power of creative expression is crucial to helping people experience Jesus in meaningful ways.  Created to Create is a ministry used to encourage people to engage in the continual refreshing act of creative expression, with the purpose of presenting the claims of Jesus to them and helping them to begin or strengthen their relationship

To touch the lives of participants through the use of visual arts and guided conversation, for the purpose of deepening our understanding of self, others and our connection to God.

 * To provide opportunity for individuals, to exercise their artistic abilities and develop those God-given talents for His glory.

 * To use spiritual discernment in all that we do, recognizing the needs of the people at any given time, and asking God for enlightenment in what to present to the people.

* To maintain a Christian identity and use the unique gifts and talents that God has given us to glorify him.

How it all Started

In the summer of 2017 I was encouraged to attend Karitos, a Christian-based arts and worship conference. The most impactful thing I heard that weekend was this: "God calls us to use ALL our talents, not just the ones we think we're good at." That statement changed my heart and empowered me to move forward! In that moment, God immediately blessed me with a detailed vision of how to use art "classes" and workshops to help individuals tap into their unique creativity while prompting meaningful conversations. In my desire to fully pursue God's calling for my life, I quickly prepared a proposal for my home church and within two short months, Created to Create Ministries was up and running.

After the pilot program was complete, I was given time to sit back and reflect, pray, meditate, and open my heart to the possibilities God was speaking into this ministry. Here is what I have discovered...There is absolute truth in the statement that "God does not call the qualified - He qualifies the called." The things God has taken me through in life are the exact things that have uniquely qualifies me for this ministry!

What do past participants have to say?

Margie McBride

The Branch Community Church - Chicago

"Through art we can see how each person expresses themselves as an individual while creating their unique painting. Jennifer, being a self-taught artist is a true reflection of God given talent and she is focused on sharing that talent to inspire others to build a closer relationship with God.”

Caryn Kolodziej

 Plainfield, IL

“My daughter and I took the Picasso online class. We really enjoyed it! The message behind the class really resonated with both of us. I would highly recommend Create to Create classes whether online or in person. Jenny does an awesome job of getting everyone involved, feeling comfortable sharing and engaging with each other. Just a really fun positive class!’

Barbara Franco

The Well Resource Center - Chicago

"I attended my first workshop with Jennifer having very little expectation for myself personally and artistically. However, Jennifer made everyone feel that we could accomplish the subject set before us regardless of what it was with her encouraging life philosophy. Since this first workshop I have attended others and I feel I have made  many wonderful accomplishments personally and artistically."
